I am a colonel,
That is my duty.

I brought to King
War what Noble
Did tell.
I made sure the
Old King from
The gallows
Fell.
I made sure when
Enemy approached
Every tower rung
It's bell.
I made sure that
Traders took
The prisoners, as
Slaves to
Sell.
Our dead needed
No funeral procession,
I did not order the
Ringing of any
Knell.
That is my duty,
I am only a colonel.

My name is Hate.
Not in the least
Pleasing to any
Man.
I feel no emotion,
Nor do I bid loyalty
To any clan.
My fealty is to my
New king as it was to
The old one.
How much difference
Could there be –
Father and son?
Ah, Love is beyond
Me. I heard she
Was dead.
Lust is pitiful and
Weak. I heard she
Fled.
Why should I weep
And cry, for those
Bygone?
Why should I celebrate
A bloody war,
Unjustly won?
I need no pleasing,
Nor should you,
For I am Hate.

My body is diseased.
My words do spread.
Many souls I have seized.
Many wars have I led.
No man can deflect my sword.
No man can defy my word.
For I speak true –
[Though to only negative sides I give my due.
I, Hate, have no room for positives.]

I have made man travel league after league
To fulfill their vengeful desire.
I, Hate, am like dreadful plague
Spreading hatred like wildfire.
